Doreen Bloch is the Founder and CEO of the Poshly, an online personalized giveaway platform that seeks to bring together beauty lovers with their favorite beauty brands.

Founder: Doreen Bloch

Company: Poshly

Location: New York, NY

1. How I came up with the concept of Poshly.com:

I have a technology background and I also love fashion and beauty. During my summers in college I interned at Yahoo!, and during my semesters at UC Berkeley, I ran one of the nation’s first collegiate fashion publications. It was just a matter of time before I found a way to marry my passions for both worlds.

Many of my female peers — all too often — spend hours searching for beauty products to complement their features or lifestyles and come up empty-handed. As a result of this challenge, I recognized a big opportunity to reduce those inefficiencies and help both beauty brands and consumers through a personalized giveaway, online platform.

Our goal is to help consumers answer the question: “What beauty products are best for me based on people like me?”

Not only will we help women connect with the right brands, but we plan to help companies better target their free sampling initiatives. Often, companies aren’t aware of the consumer on the receiving end of their samples. With Poshly, companies in the beauty industry can provide targeted samples to consumers, thereby increasing their chance of conversions.

2. Ambition:

To build the next great Internet platform, that helps beauty consumers find the right beauty product amongst a dizzying array of options. I hope to build Poshly into an exceptional company with a happy, successful team and a wonderful community of fulfilled customers.

Our motto is to “Live Poshly.” This saying represents the Poshly’s brand, and influences all that I do.

3. One day I hope to:

Write more books about startups. Before founding Poshly, I wrote the first edition of The Coolest Startups in America. Writing a book was an incredible experience, and I hope to write more in the future. The opportunity to be a conduit for knowledge by distilling the teachings of many experts into one guide has been remarkably rewarding.
