5. Favorite business tool(s):

I’m new to Google Calendar. I had been using a paper-based calendar along with an electronic calendar for years and I’m just now making the switch!

6. Favorite book(s):

Healing with Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford, You Are What You Eat by Gillian McKeith, Winter’s Tale by Mark Helprin, Forever by Pete Hamill, The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton, A Return To Love by Marianne Williamson, Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein and the
Twilight Series (“I am not ashamed” … I repeat to myself).

7. Best place to unwind:

Vermont is the best place for me to relax. I’ve been lucky to have a family home there my whole life. When things start to feel funky in my life I know it’s because it’s been too long since I’ve been up there. I love it just as much in the summer as I do when I am skiing there in the winter. I enjoy wandering into the woods and literally playing in the streams like I did when I was a kid. I’ve recreated the “Dirty Dancing” log dance scene many, many times.

8. Would love to have dinner with:

I would love to grab some farmer’s market special plates with marketing and business gurus in my field; Marie Forleo, Seth Godin, Jonathan Fields, Simon Sinek, Tim Ferris, Derek Halpern, Marcus Buckingham, Danielle LaPorte, Fabienne Fredrikson and more. We could all sit at a communal farm style table and literally (and figuratively) dig in.

9. You can never have too many:

I can never have too many greens! I am a member of a local community supported agriculture (CSA) network, and by paying a recurring fee I receive veggies each week.

I’m always preaching the wonders of dark leafy greens and my clients always ask, “What happens if you buy too many and have to throw them away?” Well, each week I get way too many and guess what, I get creative and figure out a way to use them all! Dark leafy greens oxygenate your blood, aid in weight loss, increased energy, skin health and more!

10. Essential business tip:

Create systems for everything. Write or type it all down and keep a system that works for you. I’ve always kept the exact style of notebook since 2001 where I write my to-dos and notes in the front and inspirations and workshops in the back. This has what has kept me on track as my own boss for years. You have to be accountable to something.
