No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care and why. Following your passion ultimately illustrates how and why you truly care about what you do in life and business.

Take a moment and think about why you became an entrepreneur? Businesses fail for various reasons yet, I believe in most cases that people lose their “Why?” This is the catalyst behind your passion that helps you persevere through the rough patches in business.

For example, I can remember when the coaching industry became incredibly saturated.

I became discouraged with trying to keep up with the multitude of trends that would set me apart. It wasn’t until I took a deep breath and thought about “Why I became a small business owner and what I would (and could) actually do with the profits (monetary success) I gained,” that I began to recharge and gain focus on the areas of my business that really mattered.

The energy shifted — I was no longer burning out.

Everyone tells entrepreneurs to follow their passion, and here are four simple reasons why you should:

1. You’ll never “work” a day in your life.

When you aren’t following your passion, days are long and dreary.

You watch the clock, you look forward to a 30-60 minute break to eat, and you can’t wait to get home and do nothing. In contrast, when you follow your passion, you get lost in your efforts with joy! You can’t wait to begin each day and “work” all day and through lunch because of the satisfaction your endeavors bring. You truly understand your tasks, purpose and enjoy tackling new challenges each day.
