4. Pin consistently

Social networking has heightened the visibility and interest of photo sharing, which creates the need for high quality images. Don’t just start pinning product shots, include behind the scenes images at your offices, and industry related graphics. Post your brand images, and share other content from other users. This will help you keep your board fresh and engaging.

5. Promote the right way

Most small business owners want to pin their own products as much as possible. However, the key is to keep your followers interested with curated graphics, tips or products from other complimentary companies as well. Pinterest users are quite savvy in spotting boards with too many self-serving product shots.

6. Optimize boards for search engines

Google automatically notices fresh content and social signals. When submitting images and content from your website, add hashtags, links and keywords to your pins to increase relevant traffic.

Remember this mantra: Pin, Repin and Follow. Building a following that can result in brand advocates sharing your pins and engaging with your website.
