3. Create unique content and build links

Now that you’ve researched niche keywords, developed an optimized business website and have pages of SEO friendly URLs to fill —  it’s time for the most important step: content.

The most important part of long term high quality SEO is content. Your company website must be geared towards human readers. This is especially important in the wake of recent Google search algorithm overhauls like Penguin and Panda.

In a nutshell, these changes impact how the world’s biggest search engine ranks websites for key search terms in their niches: based on the idea that quality content is the most important ranking factor. Thus, your company website should also focus on this metric.

Quality content consists of regular and decently large updates of informative text that is useful and relevant to your target audience. You’ll want to create content that engages website visitors and prompts them to share it with friends that have similar interests.

When you consistently produce quality content, it can increase your company’s online reputation for expertise and trustworthiness — and attract more readers. It’s also likely that visitors will share your pages via social media and other site owners may potentially link to your content. These two trends are your absolute best sources of organic link building; which elevates your organic search profile.

To maximize the link building process you can do two important things:

a. Make sure that every single page of your site is integrated with social media sharing buttons. This will encourage social sharing, especially on sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

b. Offer guest posts on other high-quality and industry related blogs and websites. By aiming to post as a guest on high quality and well known niche websites, you can speed up the growth of your backlink profile — and develop your reputation across the web.
