5 Ways to Create a Positive Internet Presence for your Small Business

Here are several ways to clean up your "online" act and create a more positive Internet presence for your business.

4. Track what people are saying about your business.

It may be nearly impossible to participate in every online conversation that involves your brand, but you should at least be aware of them. Track what’s being said about your business online using free services like Google Alerts.

5. Publish customer reviews, testimonials and facts.

Ask satisfied customers for testimonials on a regular basis. Then take their feedback and publish it to your company website or blog. Regularly provide an up-to-date frequently asked questions “FAQ” area on your website to address some of the most widely asked questions your customer service or sales team receives.

Are others posting incorrect information about your products or services? Have you noticed an increase in forum chatter regarding your latest product release? “Quite often, negative online press stems from confusions or incorrect facts. You can often clear up confusions and incorrect facts through dialogue with the appropriate people, but in serious cases, where many people are getting confused, you may well want to make your side of the story available on your website,” according to Distilled.net.

Control the conversation instead of responding to it.
