3. What is missing from your business?

Now that you are focused on what is already working, look for the missing links and leverage points.

What’s the one thing that could help you get more results? What are specific action steps that you can take in the next 30, 60 and 90 days?

In my friend’s case, we took a look at his current partnership opportunities and came up with a list of specific co-marketing ideas to present to his largest partner. Then, the next week, he approached his partner with our ideas. The outcome: he finalized a deal that will likely generate tens of thousand of dollars in revenue for his startup over the next several months. In addition to the revenue potential, my friend now has a greater sense of clarity, momentum and confidence.

Ultimately, if you want to gain momentum in business, look at what’s working, what is not working and what could be missing. However, don’t just answer these questions carelessly; instead, discuss the questions and answers with your team and mentors. Put your answers in writing and keep the document visible in your office. Commit to your plan for a minimum of 30 days, and enjoy your company’s newfound growth!
