Travel can be a hassle even for the bonafide jet setter. Once you land you can’t wait to escape the crowds and find a quiet space to work or relax.

So you slide on your headphones, turn up your Spotify playlist and drift into a deep sleep in the airport business lounge. Unfortunately, you wake to realize you’re going to miss your flight and the TSA line is likely moving at a glacial pace.

The thought of sprinting like Usain Bolt to your connecting flight at the opposite end of the airport or hitching a ride on one of those motorized carts is not really appealing — at all.

If only there was a quicker way…

Chicago entrepreneur and travel enthusiast Kevin O’Donnell asked himself the same question. “The idea struck him when he was pulling [his] kids on his suitcase at the airport, and wondered, ‘Why can’t we ride our luggage and get to where we’re going faster with less stress?'”

So, O’Donnell teamed up with his motorcyclist friend, Boyd Bruner and Modobag was born — the world’s first motorized and rideable suitcase.

A carry-on that’s 3x faster than walking

Modobag is the world’s first motorized, smart and connected carry-on that aims to get travelers, tech enthusiasts and day-trippers to their destination up to three times faster than walking.

Imagine that! Luggage that can travel up to 6 miles on a single charge, at 8 miles an hour. It is lightweight and can convert from motor to pull-behind use with ease. It is also equipped with dual USB charging ports and a crush proof laptop compartment to protect your very life (or laptop, rather).

You can back Modobag on Indiegogo, where it’s already raised $62,056, surpassing its $50,000 goal, and if you preorder one (for $995), they promise to ship in January 2017.

If you have plans to seriously upgrade your suitcase this fast and furious carry-on may be just what you need.
