As entrepreneurs, brands and businesses, we are continually in a fight against a world of competition to get more done.

Not only do we need to accomplish more than we thought possible, we also need to do it better than the competition as well. As a one-man operation, this is something I’ve continually battled with over the years.

I know my expertise and that I’m great at what I do… however, sometimes it’s just a struggle to get everything done just to stay ahead.

For times like these, the importance of marketing automation comes in play. It’s not about spending as much money on advertising as you can, or simply working more hours in a day — instead, it’s all about automating as many of your daily tasks and business operations as much as possible.

One such solution that has made the concept of automation much easier for site owners, businesses and brands around the world is GetResponse. The company has over 16 years of experience in the online marketing space and over 350,000 customers in more than 180 different countries. Through the use of their email creation tools, autoresponders, webinars and more, businesses and brands now have the opportunity to get more done than ever before.

To stress the importance of marketing automation in my personal business (and for everyone else doing business online), I’m going to highlight three ways I’m currently automating my business so it’s working for me 24/7/365.

1. Email Marketing

Creating a mailing list is one of the most important things any entrepreneur or brand on the internet can do. Since more than 70% of the people who visit your site for the first time will never come back, grabbing their email address and getting them on your list is key to repeat visits and business.

For even more reasons why email is still one of the most effective marketing methods today, check out these industry stats from leading data management companies.

However, simply having an email list isn’t enough. You will also need to create templates for your newsletters, building out nice subscription forms and also track delivery and click rates.

One of the most impactful ways to use a mailing list is to set up an email autoresponder series. This is also one of the best ways to implement marketing automation into any business as well.

An autoresponder works in the same way a follow-up email system works, in that your subscriber will receive a new email every few days… ultimately leading them up to take a final action or make a purchase from your service. An autoresponder works in that same way, but on a bulk scale.

Once you have a powerful call-to-action and autoresponder in place, it’s simply a matter of getting more email sign ups to your list.

2. Landing Pages

Speaking of email signups, landing pages are one of the best ways to bring direct attention or engagement to any specific offers you might be promoting. Landing pages are commonly used with affiliate marketing and promoting offers to different target audiences, but they can also be used for in-house offers and list building as well.

If you are currently using landing pages within your existing content creation and marketing, then you likely already know the hassle of creating pages, setting up tracking and getting them live.

When I use landing pages, I make sure to use a platform that hosts the content for me, has a drag-and-drop builder in place and also offers built-in tracking so I can split test different designs and ad copy.

If you want to find success with landing pages, you need to be able to split test different offers, ad copy, and site design. Without this type of automation in place, not only are you making more work for yourself, you are also making it hard to squeeze out the highest profit margins possible.

3. Webinars

Webinars are quickly becoming one of the most effective ways to turn audiences into high-value customers. The difference between webinars and other types of online content is that the engagement factor is much higher.

At the same time, it’s usually a live experience and when the call-to-action does take place, so many people have already invested a lot of time into your webinar, so they are much more likely to complete the final offer or sale.

When it comes to webinars, you have a lot of options.

While they are great for selling high-ticket items, they are also useful for online training, interviews, and class or group meetings. Depending on the type of webinar you’d like to run, you can choose from video, presentations or even recorded and automated webinars as well.

It doesn’t matter if you are currently selling online courses or have nothing to sell at all, consider your option with webinars to increase overall engagement and build a closer relationship with your audience.

Getting started with marketing automation

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to start using email marketing, landing pages, and webinars to increase engagement, conversions, and overall revenue in your business.

GetResponse is one of the most well-known and respected names in the industry that offers an all-in-one solution for not only each of the methods mentioned above but also many other tools and services as well.

No matter what platform or method you decide to use, just make sure you are implementing marketing automation into your brand or business, or you will simply never get ahead of the competition.
