For many small businesses, having a Facebook page can seem like a necessary evil. Maybe other local businesses have them or customers complain they can’t find your business on a specific social network.

But even for the most anti-social media among us, being on Facebook can pay off for your small business. You just need to ensure that you have all bases covered, and any additional love you give your Facebook business page will be gravy.

Hitting the basics to make your Facebook business page stand out doesn’t have to be time-consuming or require professional social media services. Here are four quick and simple things every entrepreneur can do to ensure their Facebook Business Page is impactful.

Add a high impact cover photo.

Your cover photo – the large one, all the way at the top of the page – is often the first thing that Facebook users see when they land on your business page. Make sure that it is centered, has a decent resolution and actually represents your business. If you need help, there are tools available to help you create a professional, high impact Facebook cover photo. Gain bonus points for switching it up every now and again to represent the seasons or new products and services.

Update your contact information.

Facebook business pages have an “About” section reserved for your basic information. Make sure that yours includes your address, phone number, URL to your website, hours and links to other relevant online sources. If someone makes it to your Facebook business page and wants to contact you, they are likely very motivated to do so, and it would be unfortunate to not provide them with the information they need to take the next step.

Design a relevant CTA button.

In case you hadn’t heard, Facebook now offers a CTA (or call-to-action) buttons on business pages. This is a one-click way for potential customers to take the next step in contacting you or booking an appointment. Choose a Facebook call to action button that is aligned with your business goals.

Post relevant content.

This is the day-to-day “care and feeding” of your Facebook business page and its followers. While cat videos can be entertaining, is that really what you want potential customers to associate with your business? (Unless you’re a feline videographer, the answer is probably no!). Use a tool to find and curate relevant content to post on Facebook . Your followers will thank you for it.
