“It’s not what you know – it’s who you know.” Public relations maven, Lauren Rich is all too familiar with the old adage. Rich has been at the helm of cultivating the public image of notable fashion, accessories and lifestyle clientele since launching RICHPR in 2007.

How I Got Started: I like to say I got my start thanks to a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work! I took PR internships in school of course, and secured my first two clients while in school.
Spring ’06, I landed my first client while in a Special Events class where we put together a fashion show for Project Runway designer Zulema Griffin — she had just finished Season 2. I saw this as an opportunity so stepped up and did as much of the work as I could. That summer Zulema called me to put together her show during New York Fashion Week, which was my first “real” event on my own.
That Fall, my last semester in school, I was working part-time at a hair salon front desk, when they found out I was doing Zulema’s PR and asked me to do their PR as well. When I graduated in Dec ‘06 I had a friend of mine design a business card for me and by Jan ‘07, I had officially launched RICHPR. Through daily networking and a lot of hard work, I’ve been very fortunate to build and maintain a consistent client base.
Noteworthy: With a background in Advertising + Marketing Communications, Lauren wasted no time taking advantage of opportunities in New York City. Rich cut her teeth alongside the best and brightest – taking numerous jobs and internships in the fields of fashion and beauty public relations and events.
Through hard work, perseverance, and the privilege of working with a great network of supportive clients, colleagues and friends, Rich has grown RICHPR into a respected, innovative and committed full service boutique PR agency specializing in fashion, lifestyle and beauty brands.
