4. Dream on

It is perfectly okay to dream. Convey your dreams through your online store design. Today, technology places no limits on your design aspirations. When working with a developer to create the best “look and feel” for your online store, be creative but also ensure that your design aesthetic properly reflects your product offering.

5. Generate traffic

Once your store is up and running, start attracting customers immediately. This should be your first thought, before you even launch. Look for easy and cost-effective marketing tactics (i.e. Facebook Store, eBay & Amazon integration, coupon distribution, etc.) to drive sales.

6. Analyze and optimize

For your new online business to grow, its weaknesses must be translated into strengths. Start by ensuring that the right analytical tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Site Meter, Quantcast,  etc.) and integration capabilities are available. Thereafter, adjust and optimize your marketing efforts accordingly.
