The legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant died alongside his teenage daughter and seven passengers when his private helicopter crashed in California on Sunday, January 26th. The retired Los Angeles Lakers star was 41.
The late basketball great inspired fans both on and off the court. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said in a statement Sunday, “Kobe’s legacy transcends basketball…” Bryant will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best to ever play the game, a five-time NBA title-winner, an 81-point scorer, an iconic figure of a sport that has produced so many legendary athletes. He was so much bigger than basketball and much more than an athlete.
A relentless work ethic that propelled Bryant’s 20 years in the NBA also helped drive his next chapter as an entrepreneur, author and Oscar-winning filmmaker. He leaves behind a business portfolio that stretched well-beyond the basketball court. Bryant had big plans for his post-NBA career. As a result, he worked to apply what he learned on the basketball court to business and investing.
Here’s a look at ten Kobe Bryant quotes to help you overcome challenges in life and business.
