007 ‘Skyfall’ Business Tips: How Entrepreneurs Can Channel Their Inner James Bond

Here are six ways every entrepreneur -- with local or international appeal -- can channel their inner James Bond.

5. Know how to handle your ‘business’ weapon.

James Bond understands the value of having a [weapon] and knowing how to use it … 007 is well-equipped to defend himself and those around him when the situation arises.”

Like Bond, you too should know how to use one of your most effective weapons – a well-equipped marketing arsenal. You may have an excellent business model, a validated customer base and surgically precise execution, but if you don’t communicate — ever — you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

“After all, a quality weapon is a valuable tool, but it is only as good as the person operating it.”

6. Find your Q.

Would James Bond be as effective without supply-side help?

For Bond, Q is his “go-to-guy” for any equipment he needs, Q is a handler, a craftsman at his aid.

Every successful business owner should find a “Q” — suppliers you can count on, a research and development team that saves you money, experts to help you navigate areas outside of your core competencies.

Interestingly enough, in ‘Skyfall’ Q is a youthful Gen Y genius that represents the brave new world of techno-espionage, claiming he can “do more damage on [his] laptop in [his] pajamas … than [Bond] can do in a year in the field.”

Bond: Then what do you need me for?
Q: Every now and then a trigger has to be pulled.
Bond: Or not pulled. It’s hard to know which in your pajamas… Q.
Q: [Shaking his hand] Double-O Seven. (Watch the Clip)
