Irina Meyer, a successful Russian entrepreneur, and enthusiastic venture capitalist with over 14 years of experience is the tour de force behind a global early-stage venture fund focused on innovative startups in financial technologies, social media applications, and computer game industries.

As the founder and managing partner of Sils Capital, a venture fund that invests internationally in early-stage companies, Irina leads projects as a director, adviser, and investor in the fund’s portfolio companies.

Sils Capital, Meyer’s passion project, focuses one hundred percent of the portfolio on impact investing, an investment strategy that aims to generate positive, measurable social and environmental effects in addition to financial returns, while 35% is allocated to life sciences and medical device ventures. Uniquely, the fund commits to investing at least 50% of yearly rounds in women-led companies to encourage women in business.

Prior to establishing Sils Capital, Meyer worked for technology companies in California. Irina and her talented team are comprised of software, engineering, and media backgrounds, proven through multiple startups and leadership via enterprise companies. Meanwhile, her core expertise lies in developing new ideas in digital media and interactive entertainment.

Through Sils Capital, Irina invests funds in US, Israel, China, and Switzerland-based innovative ventures to connect their products and services with communities worldwide. It has turned out to be a promising business niche. As the head of the firm, Irina works tirelessly as an adviser, mentor, and board member to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and ensure they have access to the crucial capital necessary for growth.

Exclusively investing in game-changing technologies, Sils Capital oversees a robust portfolio of companies including Arovia, Volan Technology, and many other successful ventures. As an impact investor, Irina understands a leader’s role in team development within high-performance organizations and the importance of long-term strategic development of people as a part of the process. “I make sure my work contributes to something good. I do not give away my work for something meaningless or something with a short-term pragmatic effect. I aim to create a better social environment and promote creativity for the betterment of all people,” says Meyer.

However, Irina is more than just an investor and entrepreneur. She is a talented values-focused philanthropist focused on women’s empowerment. As a conscious investor, she seeks to make wise, compassionate, and empathetic choices when building women’s careers with a Russian-speaking women engineer group.

Through her continued interest in their personal and professional development, she increased participation, encouraged dialogue, and cultivated behavioral changes that improved the overall experience. The decisive, passionate, and fearless leadership Irina exhibits makes an indelible impact in the companies and communities she helps to build.
