Dallas Entrepreneurs Flock to Celebrity Gifting Suites to Market Their Brands

Celebrity product placement is big business. The concept is incredibly powerful because it is incredibly simple.

She’s not looking for the celebrities to come back for more, though. Instead, the social media exposure brings in the event attendee’s connections — friends, family and colleagues — who will inevitably ask where the jewelry came from and seek it out themselves.

“This system is so much more organized; you know they are receiving the product, you see them hold it,” according to Downs. “Some marketing methods work and some don’t. Gifting cuts out all the layers between you and [customers], and one way or another you know the message is getting out,” she says.


Coveted Exposure to Ideal Customers

For both women entrepreneurs, gifting has proven vital to the success of their brands. Smith, a fixture within the Dallas community, has worked with Dallas charities including the Cattle Barron’s Ball, North Texas Food Bank, and Make-A-Wish. She relies on gifting service professionals who will match her product with the right demographic and lets her work speak for itself.

Frequently mentioned in the media, Downs is convinced that gifting suites work. “I’m from Georgia and I believe in getting my hands dirty and being humble,” she insists. “Anytime I can get my jewelry in the hands of a new group of people, I am grateful.”
